The World Foundation’s mission is to support projects and programs that benefit the girls and young women of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. It raises funds in the USA through dedicated individual supporters and a variety of Friends groups to provide much needed funding to all areas of WAGGGS work.
World Foundation donations have enabled WAGGGS to fund a wide range of projects, from improvements to World Centres to scholarships assisting young Leaders to attend key training events. Listed below you can find just a few of the ways in which their funding has benefited WAGGGS over the past few years.
- Travel scholarships to enable young women to volunteer at our World Centres, experience a new country and culture and connect with fellow Guides and Scouts from different backgrounds.
- Renovation, repairs and maintenance to all of our World Centres have been made possible thanks to grants from Friends groups dedicated to fundraising. These have allowed our World Centres to continue to provide a high level of service to guests, running smoothly and operating effectively.
- Grants to WAGGGS have contributed towards training events such as our 'Train the Trainers' event, which brings together Leaders from a number of countries and enables them to gain new and valuable skills.
- Other areas for funding include support for regional committees, scholarships, travel grants and much more.
