Education as a tool to tackle GBV

Education is key in addressing violence against girls. By empowering girls and young women to take the lead in asserting their rights you create a powerful force for transformation. By challenging gender stereotypes and reaching boys and young men through non-formal education you challenge the root causes of violence. As experts in non-formal education, we have experience in making big subjects and topics accessible to young audiences.

This webinar will introduce the Voices against Violence curriculum and examples from different countries on how this curriculum has been implemented before.

Advocacy and girl-led campaigning

This campaign is not about adults or men stopping violence against girls on behalf of girls. It is about empowering girls and young women to be the drivers of change, while recognising that it is never a girl’s responsibility to end the violence she faces. Instead it is saying girls are more than just victims, they are agents of change. They are the instigators of their own futures and the leaders of change within their communities

An opportunity to learn more about how Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the work are speaking out and leading advocacy campaigns.
