The Surf Smart 2.0 Fund is available for all WAGGGS Member Organisations (MOs) wishing to see Surf Smart 2.0 used by their children and youth members.
MOs are able to apply for grants of up to £8,000 GBP per grant. Funds will be granted to support MOs with the aim to reach a total of 200,000 children and young people worldwide by the end of 2024 and due to the generosity of Norton, the cost of producing the first 200,000 badges has been covered.
Deadline for applications:
There is no deadline for applications; the fund will close when all money is distributed. Although, the 1st round of decisions will be made by September and the second round by December 2022.
How should we apply?
Read the full Call for Applications pack, returning the completed application form, including a Project Plan and Budget to Prerana Shakya, Global Programmes Manager (Prerana.Shakya@wagggs,org)
How will the decisions on funding be made?
The key criteria are:
- A clear and realistic project plan and budget
- Demonstrated commitment to the project’s themes
- MO contribution: the MO will contribute some of its own resources to the project
- MO benefit: project outcomes would benefit the MO’s capacity and strategy
What is the project timeline?
Projects will be expected to start any time from August 2022 onwards and run until end of 2024.
Can funding be used to support current work?
We encourage MOs to either reach out to children and young people who have not yet been introduced to Surf Smart and/or to introduce the updated activities to those who already completed the original Surf Smart badge.
