International Friendship Week 2022

Explore Switzerland and learn about Swiss culture while meeting friends old and new.

Explore Switzerland and learn about Swiss culture while meeting friends old and new.

This event focuses on excursions and opportunities to really get to know Switzerland. From the history of the penknife, to the taste of a traditional cheese fondue, to how high quality chocolate is made, there is lots to learn and plenty of fun to be had while doing it!

Of course, there is also time to enjoy Our Chalet, the oldest of WAGGGS' World Centres, and its peaceful alpine surroundings.

The event package includes:

  • Eight nights' accommodation in rooms allocated by Our Chalet (bed linen and towels provided). A limited number of single and twin rooms are available at extra cost
  • All meals from dinner on arrival day to packed lunch on departure day
  • A full itinerary of activities including six day programmes and six evening programmes
  • Luggage transfer on arrival and departure (during office hours - 8am-6pm)

This event is open to Guides/Scouts and non-members aged 18+.

For full information, including details of the programme, please read the Information Pack.

Due to the impact of the pandemic on the tourism industry, it is possible we may need to make substitutions to activities closer to the event start date.

Note: The Cheryl A Watkins scholarship, available to women aged 60+ with 20+ years in Guiding/Scouting, can be used towards the accommodation portion of the package cost for this event. Full details here.
