“The WAGGGS Medal of Service is the highest form of recognition that WAGGGS can bestow and is awarded to individuals (volunteers or staff) who have distinguished themselves in their outstanding service to Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting at national and global level. The Medal of Service expresses gratitude to members of the Association whose service is considered to be exceptional, noteworthy and/or extraordinary in nature.”

Connie has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the Movement as National President of the Girl Scouts of the USA, on the Board of the World Foundation and as a Global Team member being part of WAGGGS Strategies for Growth Committee, leading the Vibrant Regions Working Group and as a Vice-Chair of the World Board during the last six years

Throughout her time as member of the World Board, Connie has served six years as Vice-Chair, supporting significantly the development of an effective Chair´s Team and enhancing the engagement with the CEO and the Senior Management Team.

She had been Chair of the WAGGGS Strategy & Planning Committee from 2014-2017 leading the development of the Strategy Business plan for 2017-2020. She had been the Chair of the Volunteer Resource Committee and in this capacity she had led a deep review of the Regional Committees structure, their responsibilities and ways of work, engaging in significant conversations across the organisation.

She had been a natural advisor to the Regional Chairs and Regional Committees and has significantly supported the development of an effective Chair’s Team and enhancing the engagement with the CEO and the Senior Management Team.

Connie has helped to build a strong, collaborative and positive relationship with our WOSM partners identifying common topics of interest for both organisations, and supporting an open and transparent discussion on challenges occurring at the grassroots for our MOs and NSOs.

Connie is well respected by everyone in the organisation, lives the WAGGGS values, and is an inspiration to many. She is devoted to the growth and prosperity of the worldwide Movement.
