We are proud to partner with Dove on Free Being Me, a unique partnership which aims to create a world free from appearance-related discrimination and anxiety for girls.
In 2013, WAGGGS and the Dove Self-Esteem Project (DSEP) teamed up to launch Free Being Me, empowering young people to embrace their true selves.
This collaboration combines DSEP's focus on body confidence with WAGGGS' expertise in non-formal education, leadership development and girl-led advocacy. The programme is underpinned by research from the University of the West of England's Centre for Appearance Research.
Phases I and II reached over 6.5 million young people, with a Phase III goal to reach 3 million more by 2026.
This unique partnership aims to create a world free from appearance-related discrimination and anxiety for girls.
"We are very pleased to have Guides and Scouts worldwide building up body confidence within our ongoing partnership with WAGGGS. We know that low body confidence is not only a public health issue, but also a social justice and gender equality issue. We want to help young people feel good about the way they look to reach their full potential."
