World Centres are going virtual!

Join us on a virtual adventure across the globe to explore the World Centres and connect with Guides and Scouts from around the world.

We’ve designed lots of exciting virtual programmes for groups and individuals of all ages. Whether you’ve never heard of the World Centres before or you’re a regular visitor and missing the chance to travel to a World Centre in 2021, there’s something for everyone. Prepare to become a virtual explorer and experience an international connection with Guides and Scouts all over the world from your own home.

We would like to thank the World Foundation of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts for their generous support the World Centres which has made this project possible.

The World Centre Virtual Programme offers a huge range of exciting and engaging sessions for all ages in the following four areas:

Global Adventures

Race across Europe completing mini challenges; travel through London while learning about our founders and those who have shaped Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting throughout time; learn what’s needed to take part in an international World Centre adventure and hear first-hand the amazing experiences of Girl Guides/Girl Scouts who have been there before!

Cultural Discoveries  

Do you love meeting people from around the world and learning more about their cultures? If you do, come and join us as we explore different cultural celebrations and skills from the countries our World Centres are located in. Through the Cultural Discoveries events, you will be able to take a virtual trip through the Swiss Alps, move virtually around the Africa Region, celebrate the Festival of Light with Sangam, and enjoy the Queen of England's Birthday with Pax Lodge. Perhaps you want to try out a new cultural skill from Bollywood dancing to cooking a traditional Indian dish and much more to keep you busy.

World Centre Explorations 

If you haven’t been able to visit a World Centre before, and have ever wondered what happens during an event, then World Centre Explorations is for you!? Come and join a virtual tour, an information session, or try some of our activities virtually, and learn about what makes our World Centres so special to our Movement. These sessions are the perfect chance to meet members of the Team and ask the questions you have always wanted to ask!

International Connections

Do you love being part of a Global sisterhood and have had enough of being isolated by COVID-19? Join us, and hundreds of other Guides and Scouts from across the whole Movement, as we celebrate World Thinking Day, International Women’s Day and International Friendship Day.

You will be able to share what you love about Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting, and talk about your culture, with Girls around the world Experience the incredible feeling of being connected to other Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from all over the world who you can immediately call a friend!

Please note that anyone under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult. Sessions will be delivered in English unless otherwise stated. We are working on having sessions available in all four languages. If you are a translator and would like to support a session with your skills, we'd love to hear from you!"
