Today marks the start of a joint visit to Tunisia by the World Association of the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).
WAGGGS' World Board Chair, Nicola Grinstead, and WOSM's Chairperson of the World Scout Committee, João Armando Gonçalves, will be visiting a host of ground-breaking projects from 1-3 July run by Scouts and Guides across Tunisia.
In mark of solidarity, Nicola and João are expected to experience a range of local activities and long-term projects focused on body confidence, advocacy and peace-building, as well as take part in Citizenship Day and visit Sousse.
Meetings with Tunisia's President, Minster of Youth and Sports, the Minister of Women, Family and Children, along with other top government officials, are also on the agenda.
According to Nicola, "I am incredibly excited to be visiting Tunisia, together with João. I am looking forward to witnessing the important projects Scouts and Guides are running at a grassroots level.
"We believe in the importance of providing hope, alternative choices, confidence and life skills to all young people, so it means a lot for our organisations to come together in a bid to encourage and support girls and boys to continue their great work."
