Nadine El Achy has been appointed new Chief Executive of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). She takes up her role as of 1 April 2025. With over 20 years of experience in leadership, organisational development, and girls’ and women’s empowerment, Nadine is uniquely positioned to lead our organisation into the future.

Nadine has led initiatives in more than 30 countries, empowering individuals and communities through strategic leadership, innovative programmes, and cross-sector partnerships. As the co-founder of "Out of the Box" and a seasoned leader within WAGGGS, Nadine has an extensive background in shaping the future of Girl Guiding and Scouting. Her work with WAGGGS spans many roles, including Board Member, Chair of the World Board, and Head of the Vision and Strategy Committee, giving her a deep understanding of our mission and goals.
As WAGGGS' new CEO, Nadine is committed to leading the organisation with a vision that prioritises inclusivity, innovation, and sustainability. Her goal is to ensure that every girl has the opportunity to lead and make a meaningful impact in her community and the world.
Nadine’s leadership philosophy is rooted in the values of Guiding, which she first encountered as a young Brownie. "The journey from a Brownie to a global leader is one of service, learning, and the unwavering belief that every girl deserves the opportunity to lead," Nadine shares. "Guiding taught me that even in the darkest times, unity, leadership, and courage can pave the way for a brighter future."
"Nadine’s appointment as Chief Executive marks an exciting new chapter for WAGGGS. Her lifelong dedication to Guiding—from joining as a Brownie to now as the Chief Executive of our global Movement—illustrates how Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting shape lives and provide us with the tools and skills to lead and succeed."
Under Nadine's leadership, WAGGGS will continue to empower girls and young women to lead with confidence and drive positive change. We are excited to embark on this new chapter and work together with Nadine to create a stronger, more inclusive global Movement.
