In September 2015 at the 70th United Nations General Assembly, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by 193 countries of the United Nations.
WAGGGS celebrates the agreement of the document and particularly welcomes the recognition of the importance of gender equality to the success of the goals.
The challenge now lies in implementing the framework and transitioning from rhetoric to reality; the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts has made some recommendations to deliver real change for girls and young women.
