Development of the Movement

Although the Movement was introduced to Bolivia in 1915, the first contact with WAGGGS was not made until 1954 when the Western Hemisphere Travelling Commissioner visited Bolivia. The Asociación de Muchachas Guías de Bolivia was established in 1958.

The Association is working hard to develop units in other regions, and to strengthen the Movement in other areas.

In 1990 the Girl Scouts in Bolivia received a very special 75th anniversary present from the Bolivian Government, the Condor of the Andes Jewel. The Jewel represents the greatest honour awarded by the Bolivian Government to outstanding people or organizations.
