Co-creation is a process that engages girls and young women from the very start.
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is working to strengthen girls’ voices and leadership across all of its programming and decision-making; and aims to support its Member Organisations (I.e. national Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting associations) to do the same.
Co-Creation is a process that engages girls and young women from the very start. This means that for something to be truly co-created with girls – they need to be involved in the way the entire project is designed; whether it’s a five-year programme, a campaign activity pack or a challenge badge. This is done by actively seeking out their ideas, their feedback, and testing the projects ‘products’ with the audience it is intended for I.e. with girls and young women.
Grounded in WAGGGS' 100-year-old approach to non-formal education, the process of co-creation empowers young people from diverse backgrounds and of all ages. It helps them to define their own needs, and priorities, and make decisions about the programmes and activities their Girl Guiding or Girl Scouting associations deliver.
Join this workshop to hear from Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting associations in Sri Lanka, Lesotho and the Philippines. They will share their key lessons in applying co-creation processes.
Participants will also be invited to engage and learn about the co-creation process through some fun, interactive activities.
