Public and Community Events
Fanilon’I Madagascar
The YESS girls went to the market, to the city hall to sensitize people about menstrual hygiene management. And advocate to the authority to support the schools to take care of girls and women having their periods by providing reusable pads and giving space. Also, by giving training to the community in different centres.
Mpanazava Eto Madagasikara
On May 26th to 28th, they celebrated MH Day 2022 by distributing washable sanitary pads in 6 different regions and more than 10 communities. They have shown their commitment by educating and supporting marginalized people, so they have access to clean, sustainable, and environmentally friendly pads. More than 250 pads were distributed in total during those 3 days
Zimbabwe
They visited the Extrem Trans Children's Home with the young leaders to donate groceries as well as pads and to raise awareness about the MH day. Their objectives were met and they reached out to 50 girls and boys, women, and men.
Congo Democratic Republic
These are Menstrual Hygiene activities in Kinshasa (capital) and outside the capital. The Chief Commissioner of Congo Democratic Republic, Betty Nzau Mombo, has said they are looking for some financial support to reach out to more girls to learn about menstruation and how to manage it comfortably.
Events for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts
Burundi
Celebrated the MHM Day in all regions by empowering the AGYWs in the hard-to-reach areas and teach them proper hygiene management during menstruation. Over 500 girls were reached through trainings the girls organised in 6 sites across the nation.
Ghana
The team engaged the Osu community unit Girl Guides in a session using the Rosie’s world curriculum where they were taught how to take care of themselves during their periods and how to make and use the reusable pads.
Kenya
They organised an event for the MH Day celebration at a Muslim primary with 300 girls from the community, a school with very needy children. Their main objective was to support them with sanitary towels for the next 3 months of which was achieved as each girl received 3 packs.
Malawi
Celebrated the MH Day in all regions by empowering the AGYWs in the hard-to-reach areas and teach them proper hygiene management during menstruation. Over 500 girls were reached through trainings for the girls’, organised in 6 sites across the nation.
