For Her World

As every Girl Guide and Girl Scout, Esther Duflo believes in and aspires to live in a democratic, fraternal and environmentally conscious society.

During the EEUDF's centenary celebrations in 2011, Duflo said:

"I owe to the Movement, in large part, an unshakeable trust in the idea that the world can be fairer, more fraternal and more liveable for all, even the poorest; and also the conviction that it is up to me and each of us to do our best, to my measure, to make this better world happen.”

Esther Duflo is the youngest person and second woman to win the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.
