Front of House Coordinator - Pax Lodge

An exciting opportunity to join the Pax Lodge team to assist the Operations Manager and the World Centre Manager with guest service duties, in order to establish and maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all guests and visitors.

Job Title: Front of House Coordinator - Pax Lodge

Location: London, NW3

Salary Range: £27,560 per annum

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract, 24 months

Hours: The World Centre staff team work on a rota schedule, which covers day, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

37.5 hours per week. Shift patterns - 7 am to 11 pm.

About Us:

Pax Lodge offers 77 beds of hostel accommodation (in single, double and dorm rooms), conference facilities, Gift Shop, international volunteering programmes and a wide range of event programmes. We accept female and male guests of all ages from across the world.

Pax Lodge is also one of five World Centres of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), which is the place for members and families of the Girl Guides and Girls Scouts to meet.

About the Role:

To run the daily operation, covering reception and assist the Operations Manager to ensure the smooth running of the hostel. To establish and maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all guests and visitors. Take accountability of the reception, accommodation, gift shop, conferences, dining room, meals, and events service of the Pax Lodge.

About You:

Experience of working in a hotel/hostel or Guide & Scout Centre.

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Proven time management skills
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Multitasking Skills

Attitude

  • Flexibility, patience and ability to cope with changing priorities.
  • Ability to live and work closely with a team.

Desirable:

  • Active Guide/Scouts or have been in the past.
  • Knowledge of WAGGGS, Guiding or Scouting.
  • An understanding of diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • An understanding of computerized booking or reservation systems
  • An understanding of the principles of Health and Safety in the work environment
  • Experience of working in a residential setting
