Location: Home-based, from the countries where WAGGGS can provide Contract for Services. If the appointment is located in or near to London, they will be invited to work from the WAGGGS headquarters for two or more days a week.
Hours/ Tenure: Flexible, 28 - 35 hours per week
Salary / Fee : Dependent on contract, location and experience, as a rough guide full time, UK based salary would be circa £32K per annum.

Job Purpose:
This role will be hosted and contracted by one of the members of the Big Six: WAGGGS. Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting is the world's only movement for every and any girl. WAGGGS is the organisation that keeps the Girl Guide and Girl Scout Movement thriving, united and growing. This role operates within the context of a volunteer-led global charitable organisation with 153 Member Organisations.
Formed in 1996, the Big Six Youth Organisations is an alliance of leading international youth-serving organisations. It comprises the five largest youth movements in the world: the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), the World Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM), the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and a leading programme for youth development, the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (the Award). Together, the Big Six actively involve over 250 million young people.
About the Role:
With responsibility for delivery of Outcome 2 of the Youth Empowerment Fund, this role will deliver initiatives relating to capacity building, youth-led advocacy and events and will sit within the GYM-YEF project coordination team under the supervision of the Project Coordination Leadership team.
This position will work closely with Big Six representatives to deliver Capacity building initiatives to YEF awardees, Youth Panellists, and the Global Youth Mobilization GYM Network and be responsible for ensuring coordinated efforts across the project.
About You:
This role will suit an individual with 3 – 5 years previous experience in non-profits, youth development, international development and/or training, with a background in capacity building, non-formal education, learning and grant-making initiatives. The candidate must be willing to work at different times to engage a globally dispersed team and will need to collaborate closely with Designated Leads from across the Big Six youth organisations.
