WAGGGS is looking for 5-6 volunteers to be a part of the Community-based Membership Team (as part of the WAGGGS Capacity Building Volunteers’ Membership Development Team).

The task at hand 

This team will be responsible for delivering tailored support to build capacity in Member Organisations that identify a need for strengthening community-based Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting opportunities -  Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting outside the schools. The team will also develop resources that any Member Organisation could use independently to develop/strengthen community-based Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting opportunities.

Required knowledge and experience

Knowledge:

  • An understanding of WAGGGS at the regional and international level
  • An understanding of community-based Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting
  • Fluent English (spoken and written), with fluency in one or more of the other WAGGGS official languages is desirable

Experience:

  • Working with Member Organisations
  • Working in a community-based Girl Guide/Girl Scout setting
  • Facilitation of virtual workshops, events, training, online programmes, etc.
  • Development of resources – such as toolkits, webinars, session plans, and checklists, in a variety of contexts.

Additional Information about the role:

You will need to be able to work independently on tasks with tight deadlines, as well as work as part of a global team.

You will need to work with Member Organizations (independently, in clusters, or as larger groups), WAGGGS staff, Regional Committees (or representatives of), other WAGGGS Capacity Building Volunteers, and/or other Regional volunteers.

Regular team meetings will be held, and you will be expected to actively participate in these.

As much as we will endeavor to match you with opportunities that are close to your time zone, there may be meetings at various times of the day.

Assist with monitoring and evaluating the impact of the work of this team and Prepare progress reports of the work of the team, as required.
