Meet our current staff team
Tanya Tulloch (USA) : Our Chalet World Centre Manager
Tanya comes to us from Beaverton, Oregon where she worked for Columbia River Girl Scout Council for 12 years as a Manager. As a Girl Scout growing up in Kentucky she liked to participate in adventure activities such as rapelling, hiking and camping. She has fallen in love with snow sports in her adult life in the Cascade Mountains.
The idea of reaching the mission of WAGGGS through the outdoor adventure and leadership experiences has drawn Tanya to work at Our Chalet. Her background with camp management, volunteer development and strategic planning will help her to add to the team as a World Centre Manager. She is looking forward to meeting Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and other guests from all over the world while she is here.
Nikki Tucker (UK) : Deputy World Centre Manager, Operations
Nikki comes from Warwick in the UK and has been involved in Girlguiding for many years. She fell in love with Our Chalet on the first visit and has since visited many times before becoming a member of the Long Term Staff team. Nikki is a big fan of the outdoors and is relishing the mountain air and the fantastic hikes. In her spare time she is passionate about music and plays tenor horn. She and her husband play in the Adelboden Salvation Army Band and also the Brass Band of Frutigen. In any remaining spare time she loves to travel.
Jennamari Terävä (Finland) : Deputy World Centre Manager, Programme
Jennamari is from Heinola, Finland and became a Girl Guide practically at birth. Jen’s Our Chalet story began as a volunteer in winter 2007, and even though she has been back to Finland to finish her studies, half of her heart has stayed at the Chalet since the beginning. She is very excited to be back and determined to channel all her energy into making the programme as fun, challenging and exciting as possible. Jen is a keen hiker and an avid skier, and she spends her remaining free time singing, running, climbing, sledding, sleeping in strange places, getting stuck in trees, learning languages (especially Swiss German) and admiring all the pretty flowers – Our Chalet is definitely the right place for her!
Malin Huusmann (Sweden) : Guest Services Co-Ordinator
‘Hej!’ as we say in Sweden. My name is Malin and I am part of the operations team here at Our Chalet. I make bookings, issue bills, prepare check-in and make sure that our guests feel welcome. I was born and raised in Upplands Väsby, a suburb of Stockholm. I became a scout when I was eleven years old, and I continued on to be a scout leader and ‘paper scout’ for many years. Before coming to Switzerland I worked in travel, and I also have a photography business on the side. My camera and I have many Swiss adventures to look forward to! If I have any free time left over you will probably find me experimenting in a kitchen somewhere since I am a foodie who loves everything related to cooking or baking.
Sarah Wach (USA) : Programme Co-Ordinator
Hello! I am Sarah from sunny Miami, Florida in the USA. I have been a Scout for over 20 years, as a child, adult, and staff member in the US and as a volunteer and now staff at Our Chalet. While here as a volunteer I fell in love with the Chalet, Adelboden, and all of the wonderful people who live at and visit the Chalet, and am thrilled to have the opportunity to return! I love spending time outdoors, although that means two very different things in Miami and Adelboden. I grew up near the ocean and spent a lot of time snorkeling, SCUBA diving and kayaking. Not a lot of time in the snow, but I’m excited to remedy that here in the Alps!
Stelios Epaminondas (Cyprus) : Grounds & Maintenance Assistant
Hello all! My name is Stylianos a.k.a Stelios, I will be doing my best to keep Our Chalet in good working order.
I am from the beautiful island of Cyprus on the eastern Mediterranean Sea. I am a DIY enthusiast with a love of the great outdoors. I was born in Kigezi, Uganda a place that was popularly known as the Switzerland of Africa, a region filled with lakes, mountains and forests.
Over the years I have worked as a Building Maintenance Operative for several companies in the UK. Before joining Our Chalet I worked on various campsites around Europe renovating and repairing Static Mobile Homes.
It is great to be here and I am looking forward to learning more about Our Chalet culture and tradition. It awesome to be a part of the team, I am certain my life will change for the better here and I hope I can make a positive change in others too, no matter how small. EFXARISTO and ASANTE, (thank you in Greek and Swahili).
Sonia Epaminondas (Burundi) : Kitchen Manager
Hi my name is Sonia, I am from Burundi I hope to keep everyone at Our Chalet well fed! I was born and raised in Bujumbura the capital city of Burundi, a small country neighbouring Rwanda. We have some beautiful sandy beaches on the shores of the worlds second deepest and second largest in volume freshwater lake (Lake Tanganyika).
I am loving it at Our Chalet I enjoy meeting new people and exploring new places. It is a privilege to be a part of something as great as WAGGGS and I look forward to learning new skills, cultures and languages.
Nicole Grossen-Wilhelm (Switzerland) : Bookkeeper
Nicole is one of several Swiss members of our long term staff team. She studied accounting which eventually brought her to Our Chalet as a bookkeeper. Nicole as a true Swiss at heart is a life time devotee to white sports - perhaps being a Ski Instructor at Adelboden Ski & Snowboard school for several years has something to do with it. She has two young children and a very patient husband. Nicole works with us one day a week but we are of course always badgering her to come more often, even if only to give us beginner ski tips and have fun with us. She is also one of those efficient, hard working young women who simply knows how to just "fix things" when it comes to numbers, or taking calls in Schwytzerdütsch, an exotic language which none of us can really understand. She is fun too and joins us keenly in laughing at our office fun.
Skippy Storrow (Switzerland) : Mouse Catcher
Skippy is from Adelboden in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. Her Scouting experience is vast as she ha spent much of her time at OUr Chalet and is currently our longest serving member of staff!
She loves to explore the grass, eat bugs and mice and protects the grounds and guests from any possible predators such as marmots and slugs. In her free time she likes to sleep in the sunshine or in a cardboard box on someone's desk.
Vicky Trout (UK) : Guest Services Intern
I'm Vicky from Portsmouth, UK. I'm a primary school teacher and having finished my teaching contract at a British school in Germany, I've taken the opportunity to come to Our Chalet to be the Guest Services Intern. I went to my first guide camp as a baby thanks to both my parents being Guiding/Scouting leaders and have loved it ever since. I have been a Rainbow, Brownie, Guide, Young Leader and now I'm a Guide Leader. This summer I moved back from Germany where I was a leader with 1st Hohne Guides. We made the most of living abroad, took many of our guides camping for the first time, had many trips to Berlin, enjoyed the Christmas markets, made the most of the German culture - especially the ice-cream and even ventured to Our Chalet where I decided to apply to volunteer. I'm particularly looking forward to the adventure, challenge and new experiences that Our Chalet has to offer as well as making many new friends from around the world.
Emma Rengel (USA/Switzerland) : Programme Intern
Hello! My name is Emma and I am from Boston, Massachusetts. My passions are theatre, dance, traveling and being in the outdoors. I started scouting when I was five years old and I am now a Life Time Member of Girl Scouts USA. When I was 16 my Girl Scout troop travelled to Switzerland and participated in the Swiss Challenge at Our Chalet. I immediately fell in love with Our Chalet and jumped at the opportunity to return as a Volunteer in the summer of 2010. I am thrilled to be back at the Chalet once again, and I look forward to a beautiful winter filled with fun and adventure.
Ellen Osment (USA) : Marketing & Communications Intern
Hello! My name is Ellen but I go by Eeyore – easier to pronounce than my usual nickname of EO! I am from Georgia, USA. I come from a family of scouting and have been a part of Girl Scouts since I was five, and am very excited to be joining the Our Chalet team. I was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but moved Munsigen, CH, for three years when I was 8, where I was able to visit Our Chalet on both day trips and overnight. I moved back to the states, to Minnesota, where I lived for two years before returning to Georgia. Throughout my travels and moves I have had the chance to be a part of several different troops, as well as had the opportunity to visit Pax Lodge and Our Cabana in addition to Our Chalet. I am an avid fan of the outdoors and enjoy climbing, hiking, skiing, and especially kayaking. I recently had the opportunity to compete in the 2015 ICF World Championships for wildwater kayaking and canoeing, and plan on continue racing as much as possible. I love traveling the world, and am pleased to be returning to live in Europe, and plan to soak up as much as possible! I am excited for the opportunity to meet new people from around the world, and learn as much as possible from this experience, as well as to be living in such a beautiful place!
Gemma Thorby (UK) : Our Chalet Assistant - Winter 2015 / 2016

Before coming to Our Chalet, I was also a volunteer at Our Cabana. I love photography, singing, playing guitar and baking! Greta Smallidge (USA) : Our Chalet Assistant - Winter 2015 / 2016
Hi I'm Greta, and I'm from Mount Desert Island Maine, in the U.S.A. I've been involved in Girl Scouts for over 10 years now, and last year was the first time I've ever travelled with Girl Scouts. When I travelled to Utah for the national convention as one of the delegates, I knew I wanted to be more involved with travelling and Girl Scouts!
I'm excited to ski this season, but I also enjoy playing tennis, martial arts, photography, and of course, baseball.
Eugenia Visser (Argentina) : Our Chalet Assistant - Winter 2015 / 2016
Hola a todos!, My name is Eugenia, I'm from Argentina and I'm 25 years old. I have been a Guide for more than 13 years, and I currently volunteer as an Alitas leader (7-10 year-old-girls). I'm also studying to become an English Teacher.
I first learned about the World Centres many years ago, and since that moment I've wanted to live the World Centre experience. Two years ago I had the opportunity to visit Pax Lodge for the New Year's event, and I had a great time, meeting girls from other countries and learning new things, while challenging myself. I saw the great work that volunteers do in helping run World Centres, so I decided I wanted to be one.
I'm really looking forward to all the new learning opportunities that begin an Our Chalet Assistant will present me with, and also working with the great team that runs the World Centre!
Amy Spencer (UK) : Our Chalet Assistant - Winter 2015 / 2016
My name is Amy & I am from the UK. I have been in Guiding since I was 5 yrs old and am currently a Guide & Ranger leader. I am really looking forward to skiing & snow-shoeing, and hoping to do some winter hiking over the next 3 months! Winter is my favourite season as I love the cold & snow!
Bethany Greenway (AUS) : Our Chalet Assistant - Winter 2015 / 2016
Hi my name is Bethany (but at Chalet the call me Beefy) and I'm from Australia. At home I'm a Guide (10-14 years) leader, Olave Program member and Region Olave Program Liaison. This isn't my first time as a volunteer I was a Summer Volunteer at Our Chalet in 2014, then a Winter Volunteer at Pax Lodge 2014/15, a short term volunteer at Chalet in February and now I'm back again! I love to travel but when I'm not travelling I study Nursing at the University of Technology, Sydney. I also love hiking and the outdoors and work as camp instructor at the YMCA. When I go back home I will be starting work at a boarding school which should be very exciting.
Selina Armitt (UK) : Our Chalet Assistant - Winter 2015 / 2016
Hi, my name is Selina and I'm from Northampton in the UK. I've been in Guiding since I started Brownies age 7. At home, I'm a leader with Guides and more recently I've become a Peer Educator delivering Free Being Me for different sections. I've been really lucky to go to some really cool places with Guiding, travelling round Europe, to New Zealand and most recently to work at a Summer Camp in Canada. I'm returning to Our Chalet after being enrolled here as leader on a trip with my Guides and I'm really looking forward to spending time outside in the mountains and meeting all our visitors from around the world.
