About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to be a key figure in a growing international membership organisation and part of a dynamic and innovative Leadership Team.

WAGGGS operates across 150 different countries, working with 1.5 million volunteers and high profile strategic partners to deliver expert leadership programmes with the aim of making a real change across a range of diverse communities.

The Director of Corporate Services role is central to ensuring the organisation continues to grow and flourish. The successful candidate will be a change-maker making sure the volunteer-led organisation innovates, attracts new international business opportunities, investment initiatives and cost savings and will drive WAGGGS forward.

They will maximize the impact of WAGGGS’ resources and ensure is a well-run, high performing, agile and focused on delivering excellent results throughout our complex membership organisation.

There is also the exciting opportunity to oversee the development and implementation of a new integrated digital IT strategy which will ensure that WAGGGS has modern, effective information systems that support the delivery of its objectives across the world.

The role manages Finance, Human Resources, Risk & Planning and Assets teams and includes the management of WAGGGS’ five World Centres based in London, India, Switzerland, Africa and Mexico.

About You:

As the successful candidate, you will be a professionally qualified accountant and member of a recognised accounting association. You will have substantial experience at a senior level, including financial management systems and the preparation of financial statements to recognised accounting standards. Ideally, you will have a track record of managing and developing IT solutions as our IT is a major project for 2018.

You will have a track record of leading a Corporate Services function at an executive level in a complex organisation, with sufficient exposure to effectively manage the core functions of Finance, Business Planning and Performance, Human Resources, IT, Procurement, Asset Management and Facilities.

You will also have successful experience of working in partnership with volunteers and volunteer-led committees and a thorough understanding of the distinctive requirements of charity finance management/ accounting including cause-related marketing, charitable grant- giving and stewardship of investments and other charitable assets.

Finally, you will be a dynamic leader and a proactive team player working collaboratively with fellow members of the Leadership Team. You will also be highly focused and passionate about the difference excellent Corporate Services can make to the organisation’s performance, impact and continuous improvement.
