Our annual leadership development event in the Swiss Alps.
Our Chalet update on COVID-19
We have been monitoring the risks for the Helen Storrow seminar 2020 in Our Chalet because of the spread of COVID19. The difficult decision to cancel has been made following advice provided by the Swiss Authorities, the World Health Organisation and our insurers. While there are currently no restrictions on travel to Switzerland, the situation is changing rapidly in Europe and we have been advised that travel restrictions could be implemented at any time.
The great news is that this event will still happen in many pop-ups held locally in places around the globe – pending decisions of the organising Member Organisations (MOs) and Local restrictions in place. Check with your MO to see if they are hosting a Helen Storrow Pop-up as you may be able to participate with them in 2020.
All of your applications will be automatically considered for the next Helen Storrow Seminar, 1-7 February 2021. We plan to send out acceptance letters to that event within a few weeks so you will know if you have been accepted and can start your planning. The planning team is looking for ways to offer some online content to 2021 participants between now and the event so watch for updates.

The Helen Storrow Seminar is WAGGGS' introductory level leadership development event. It is held annually at Our Chalet.
The seminar gives young people from around the world the chance to connect on issues they care about and take the lead as agents of change in their communities.
This special programme has been held at Our Chalet, WAGGGS’ World Centre in Switzerland, since 1986. In the heart of the Swiss Alps, this Our Chalet adventure brings Girl Guides and Girl Scouts closer to nature. It allows participants to explore the environmental issues they face in their communities and inspires them to value and protect the environment.
