This 13th Asia Pacific Regional Conference will be held from 12 to 16 August 2019 in Colombo, Sri Lanka at the Galadari Hotel.
This 13th Asia Pacific Regional Conference is a very special occasion, as we will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Asia Pacific Region. Some of the Asia Pacific Regional Conference activities will be joined by Friends of Asia Pacific WAGGGS (FAPW), which are also celebrating the 20th Anniversary of FAPW. Conference is a key opportunity to come together for one of our most important
governance events. During the conference, we will develop future regional
strategies, align our service delivery plan with the needs, interests, and
priorities of Member Organisations, and work together to explore tools and
resources to expand Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting within our Region. We will
share best practices, learn from each other, and make new connections.
We will also host a two-day pre-conference event for young women in governance as an action for World Conference Motion 32. Information will be shared about this event in the coming months. We encourage each country to consider having at least one young women as part of their delegation to attend this event and the conference itself.

to lead the Asia Pacific Region into the new triennium of 2019-2022.
As you prepare for
the conference, we encourage you to start identifying candidates to stand for
election for the 2019 - 2022 Asia Pacific Regional Committee. We aim to present
a diverse and talented pool of candidates, including young women, who have the
skills and ability to set the strategic direction of the Region and contribute
to the implementation of our global strategy.

The theme of the 13th Asia Pacific Girl Guide and Girl Scout Conference is 'Unite, Thrive, Grow'.
So, join us as we come together to unite our members. Together we will thrive as an organisation as we take steps to discover how we will grow our membership.
Venue & Accommodation
The conference will be held at the Galadari Hotel, situated in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Bandaranaike Internatinoal Airport (BIA) is approximately 35 km from the venue.

outstanding volunteer with the vision, skills and dedication to serve our
Movement at the regional governance level, please review the materials attached
and consider submitting a nomination. Please do consider young women under
thirty when reviewing your possible nominees – we are keen to ensure that at
least one Committee member is under thirty years old when elected.
