WAGGGS Leadership Development Programme modules
The WLDP Leadership Resources are a comprehensive set of eight modules available to trainers, which will support Member Organizations in developing leadership development activities, events and workshops for new, existing and potential leaders. These modules include theory, individual and group exercises and guided reflection on the topics (they are offered as support materials and not as an alternative to a full WLDP event). We also have the Facilitation Guide, a resource for facilitators.
Topics in these resources are:
- Understanding Leadership
- Personal Development
- Leading Teams
- Management Skill
- Setting Direction

In Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting we provide opportunities for our members to experience, learn and develop leadership through a variety of programmes and activities. Leadership development starts as a girl and expands throughout her journey through the Movement, providing girls and women with skills and opportunities to lead patrols, units, committees and national associations. We work together to create opportunities for others to take leadership roles through nurturing, empowering, inspiring and being role models to girls and young women.
This leadership resource has been developed to support Member Organizations in the development of their leaders, and the growth and development of their organizations. It is intended to be a practical tool which offers an insight into leadership theory, points for discussion, activities for implementation and personal reflection on the topic of Leadership. The resource draws on the methodology, principles and learning approach successfully used in the WLDP and will support you and your organization, step-by-step, on your leadership development journey.
WAGGGS actively promotes the training, learning, and development of its adult members to fulfil their roles and achieve the Mission of WAGGGS. This policy endorses the Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting Method as a tool for building training schemes as a means of enabling adult members to gain the necessary knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to ensure the delivery of high quality Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting educational programmes.
