Thanks to your support, Stop the Violence is coming to Costa Rica
"Thank you for being a part of this change. We may be a small country, but we have a big, bright future. You have helped us take a giant step towards achieving our goals. You have helped us to educate young people in our country, and nothing is more valuable than that."

Our Leaders asked for your support
Today, WAGGGS’ first ever crowdfunding campaign officially draws to a close. We asked for your support to raise £15,000 to kickstart a national Stop the Violence campaign in Costa Rica.
And you responded.
Our final total stands at just over £17,000. This is a fantastic result. We raised £4,305 of this online, £6,700 in offline donations and our US match funders have kindly donated £6,000.
Thanks to you, the Guides and Scouts Association of Costa Rica can now run three Voices against Violence national training events, to educate their Leaders on the issue of violence against women and girls and start to make their community a safer place.
Time to get started
You’ve given them the tools they needed, and now we get to watch the empowerment of young people in action. We get to see the education of a whole community and the raising awareness of a crucial issue in Costa Rica.
The Guides and Scouts Association of Costa Rica are already planning to hold the 1st of the the training events. Everyone who supported the campaign will receive updates on each event, and will see how their support is changing lives.
Not only did we hit our target, but we raised over £2,000 more, which is an amazing achievement. These extra donations will be put towards our Stop the Violence fund, and will allow us to take the Stop the Violence campaign to even more countries.
On behalf of everyone at WAGGGS and the Guides and Scouts Association of Costa Rica, thank you for your support.
International Day of the Girl takes place on 11 October and WAGGGS will be celebrating the achievements of our wonderful Leaders around the world. Keep an eye out for our updates.
