The Girl Guide and Girl Scout Movement is the world’s largest voluntary movement dedicated to empowering girls and young women. We create opportunities and spaces for young people across the world to learn, have fun, make friends, and develop confidence as individuals and leaders.
WAGGGS brings together 152 Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting Member Organisations across the world, who collectively reach around 9m young people. While each organisation is independent, all are committed to the shared values, principles and beliefs that, through Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting, young people can develop their full potential as responsible citizens of the world.
We are based in London, with teams across the globe delivering impactful programmes and helping to build the capacity of Member Organisations, most of which are grassroots, volunteer-led, operating in the Global South.
Through our global Movement, we provide girls and young women with opportunities to practice leadership, to connect internationally and to make change happen.
About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small team in an international Movement for girls and young women. The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, WAGGGS, is looking for a Global Programmes Funding Manager to join our Global Foundations’ team. The primary function of the role is to manage and grow income from charitable foundations and international donor institutions.
We are looking for a candidate who has the drive and enthusiasm to build on the Global Foundation team’s achievements, who can increase income, widen our donor portfolio, manage donor relationships, and is confident to work autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues around the world.
Ideally, we would like to recruit someone with experience of securing major grants from charitable foundations or donor institutions, preferably in an international context, who has a strong understanding of global giving markets and trends. We will, however, consider candidates with strong transferable skills who are keen to learn.
