Rethinking the leadership offer

HSS 2018Leadership development is the heart of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting, and in today’s fast changing world, girls and young women across the globe face complex challenges in becoming leaders and changemakers. We are redesigning our leadership offer to respond to these challenges, and to make sure our members learn, experience and thrive as much as possible during their Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting journey.

Our new leadership offer will be based on a powerful new model of leadership practice, which will support girls and women to develop their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world and to carry out their roles in the Movement.

Working with our Member Organisations

Leader_Young_womenWe want to make sure that the new leadership resources are relevant to current and future leaders in the Movement and accessible and useful for Member Organisations both internally and in an international context. To make it tailored to our members’ needs, we will factor diverse perspectives into the redesign process.

To do so, we want to involve our members in as many ways as possible. We will welcome feedback, suggestions and conversations around the model every step of the way and invite our Member Organisations to consult with us on the model, pilot it, and ensure its mainstreaming by introducing it at already planned regional and national events.

How can you take part?

We’re on a journey until 2020 and we want as many Member Organisations as possible to be part of the development of the new leadership offer.

We want to hear from your Member Organisation if…

a)     You’ve been working specifically on leadership development in new ways in your Association and would like to share;

b)     You would like to share your ideas and give feedback on the leadership work as it develops;

c)      You would be interested in taking part in one of the two pilot phases, to test the new leadership work in your Association.
