Alina Guyon - Arts 4 Change
Alina (USA) took part in an event at Sangam thanks to the support of the Anne Scott Fund. She had the opportunity to go out into the community of Pune, as part of a visual arts group, and work with people in need. She planned workshops for children and really enjoyed making lots of new friends.
Africa Regional Conference
The Anne Scott Fund enabled two young women to attend the Africa Regional Conference in Nairobi, Kenya in July 2016; Sonia Assou (Ghana) and Brigitte Marie Poinoosawmy (Mauritius). Participants were able to discuss the development of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting in the region and learn more about the Free Being Me, Stop The Violence and Yes Girls Can campaigns.
Taking part in the event has enlightened my understanding on issues at the global level and also given me the opportunity to contribute more on issues and in decision making concerning my member organisation.
Helen Storrow Seminar 2016
Leila Pyle (USA) attended the seminar at Our Chalet and loved meeting her fellow sisters in the movement from around the world and learning how to make positive change for the better. She was already a passionate advocate for environmental issues but she now sees how this can be combined with her role as a girl scout.
Thanks to Anne Scott Fund I received a great opportunity to attend my first international event in WAGGGS, and more – to visit the newest world centre in Africa. I got wonderful opportunities to develop my leadership skills in a creative and supportive environment. I learned and shared my experiences with other young women from all over the world.
