Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the opening of Pax Lodge
On Friday 15th March 1991, Pax Lodge was officially opened by Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark, on a day of formal speeches mixed with the excited participation of a great many Brownies, Guides and Rangers. The opening was attended by local dignitaries, members of WAGGGS Committees and many people from around the world. HRH Princess Benedikte is the Patron of the Olave Baden-Powell Society, whose members had helped significantly with the fundraising.
Sadly there are no in-person celebrations in 2021, but we have not let this stop us from marking the occasion! The Friends of Pax Lodge have worked hard to put together a brilliant virtual event. You can view all the videos on our YouTube channel.
30th Birthday Challenge
Friends of Pax Lodge UK and USA have created a virtual challenge for you to take part in. The traditional symbol for a 30th anniversary is the Pearl, which symbolises beauty and scarcity of a union; in this case, 30 years of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from around the world visiting and learning about Pax Lodge. This challenge has five sections (using the letters PEARL). Click here to download the challenge. Click here to purchase badges from the WAGGGS shop.
- Section 1 – PEACE
- Section 2 – ENVIRONMENT
- Section 3 – ARTS
- Section 4 – ROYALTY
- Section 5 – LOCATIONS
