Join the Our Chalet team to help prepare Our Chalet for the next busy season in 2022!

Ready Steady Go is the event for groups and individuals who:

  • Want to experience the Swiss Alps;
  • Are looking for a way to give back to Guiding and Scouting;
  • Want a short time commitment;
  • And are looking for a challenge!

Everyone is welcome to apply - previous guests and staff, and those who haven't visited us yet - you just need to be keen to lend a hand! Volunteers come from all over the world, making your experience a truly international one.

Applicant Criteria

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Enjoys meeting and mixing with new people
  • Physically fit
  • Practical and not afraid of hard work
  • Can communicate in English

The days that you spend at Our Chalet will involve a variety of tasks: general deep cleaning, collecting rubbish and recycling it, laundry, sweeping and snow shovelling, putting tents up, helping in the kitchen, preparing guest rooms, firewood preparation, repairing things, painting, scraping, waxing furniture, repairing walls, taking inventory ... and anything else needed to keep the Centre in good shape!

You will also have the chance to take part in some of our day and evening programme activities, to explore the Adelboden valley, make new friends and impact the success of our oldest World Centre.
