Following the training on the educational programme which took place from 8 to 13 August 2015 in Porto Novo, the Action Plan produced by the Unionist Girl Scouts of Côte d’ Ivoire stated that having established a team that would be responsible for the educational programme, we should meet with leaders from the United Methodist Church of Côte d’ Ivoire (EMUCI) to explain the programme.

Therefore, a delegation comprising Mrs ADJA BEUCIroux N’Kouasse Evelyna, National Commissioner of the Unionist Girl Scouts of Côte d’ Ivoire (EUCI), Mrs AGNESS Judith, Federal Commissioner for Finance who was representing the Ivorian Federation of Girl Scouting (FISF) and Mrs KONAN Ahou Isabelle, former Federal Commissioner and member of the WAGGGS Africa Region Committee, met with the Chaplain responsible for Youth Movements of the United Methodist Church of Côte d’ Ivoire (EMUCI) on Monday 8 February 2016.

The goal of the meeting was to promote a better understanding of the Girl Scout Movement within the EMUCI, to improve visibility and therefore increase our membership.

EUCIWe discussed the history of the Girl Scout Movement in Côte d’ Ivoire, our educational framework, our membership of WAGGGS, our 2016 Action Plan and our plans for the future. Following the brilliant presentation made by Mrs Isabelle KONAN and Mrs Evelyna N’KOUASSE, the Chaplain assured the delegation of her commitment to helping the Unionist Girl Scouts with whatever the Association needed.

The meeting closed with a promise of support for the work of the Unionist Girl Scouts wherever necessary.

Following that, on 10 February 2016, the National Commissioner of the Unionist Girl Scouts of Côte d’ Ivoire (EUCI), accompanied by her deputy, and supported by the Youth Chaplain, visited the Right Reverend Pastor Michel LOBO, Secretary for External Affairs of the annual EMUCI Conference, for a second round of meetings to explain the educational programme of the Unionist Girl Scouts of Côte d’Ivoire (EUCI) to the United Methodist Church of Côte d’Ivoire (EMUCI). At the end of the meeting, the Right Reverend said that he had a greater understanding of the programme, and promised his support to do what he could to encourage the growth of the Movement.

We wish this dynamic team all the best, they have worked so hard to revitalise the EUCI Association.
