The 4th Executive Meeting of the South/South Partnership between Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Guinea and Liberia, known as BUFACILI, took place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from 4 to 7 February 2016.
There were 11 delegates present, of whom two were leaders from Burkina Faso, three from Liberia, six from the host country and one from Guinea.
The following decisions were adopted at this meeting:
- The document initially planned for the newspaper ‘BUFACILI NEWS No1’ will be archived, given its content and the excessive number of pages.
Production of the
BUFACILI newspaper by Burkina Faso, the brochure (a folded leaflet) by Liberia,
and the cookery book by Côte d’Ivoire.
Review and adoption
of the accounts, the final report, and the previous meeting.
Addition of Guinea
into the South/South Partnership.
The meeting decided
that Liberia would send an invitation to the National Guide Association of
Sierra-Leone to join the partnership. In such a case, the name and the logo
would be updated.
The Youth Forum
planned for 20 to 26 August will be hosted by Côte d’Ivoire on the theme “The contribution of Guides and Girl Scouts to
meeting the Sustainable Development Goals in order to achieve social change”.
Of the proposals made
by each country, four (4) sub-themes were kept, which are:
volunteering in Africa and women’s entrepreneurship, which will be facilitated
by Burkina Faso
literacy of women and girls in urban and rural areas, which will be facilitated
married life: youth, media, spirituality and inappropriate forms of dress,
which will be facilitated by Côte d’Ivoire
girls in politics: Guides and Girl Scouts at the heart of social cohesion,
facilitated by Liberia
This forum is open to
all Guides and Girl Scouts aged between 17 and 30 years.
However, advocacy has
been carried out by Burkina Faso to take into account those who are below that
age group and who have a certain level of maturity.
At the previous
meeting, it was agreed that a commercial exchange of products would take place
between the different countries; the activity that was chosen is the sale of
shea butter, provided by Burkina Faso, with a commercial value of 100 000 CFA
Franc. Each country that receives the merchandise should pay back 35% of the

place in Liberia. The training for trainers should be held in Guinea in 2017,
