On Sunday 15 May 2016 the WAGGGS and WOSM consultative committee met for its annual face-to-face meeting in Geneva.
Building on the very positive discussions started last year João Armando-Gonçalves (WOSM Chair), Nicola Grinstead (WAGGGS Chair), Scott Teare (WOSM Secretary General), Jemima Nartey (Vice Chair, WOSM World Scout Committee) and Anne Guyaz (WAGGGS World Board) gathered in the WOSM Global Support Centre for a day of updates, sharing and conversation.
The committee reflected on key initiatives from the last year including our joint statement and presence at COP21, World Thinking/Founders Day, the World Scout Jamboree and work with refugees. They discussed opportunities for further collaboration in the year ahead including a joint statement for World Refugee Day, participation in COP22 and upcoming conferences and joint events such as Roverway. The committee took time to discuss issues common to both organizations such as membership fees and use of technology and discussed how to achieve sustainable collaboration into the future.
