The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts – empowering girls to reach their full potential

With ten million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from 149 countries, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is the world’s only movement for every girl and any girl. Free to make what they want from the movement, girls learn by doing, making friends and having fun.

In safe, local spaces, girls develop the skills and attitudes to change themselves, their communities and our world. WAGGGS keeps the global Movement thriving, united and growing.

WAGGGS’ strengths lie in innovative non-formal education programmes, leadership development, community action and advocacy work, empowering girls and young women to develop the skills and confidence needed to make positive changes in their lives, their community and their country. At WAGGGS, girls learn how to tackle violence, build self-confidence and spread peace and tolerance amongst their community - and beyond.

Programmes are delivered across five regions – Africa, Arab, Asia Pacific, Europe and Western Hemisphere _ and in five World Centres: Our Chalet, Switzerland; Sangam, India; Pax Lodge, UK; Kusafiri, WAGGGS' roaming centre in Africa, and Our Cabaña, Mexico.
