About Us

The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) operates five international World Centres (UK, India, Switzerland & Mexico) and a "pop up" Centre operating in the Africa Region. 

The Centres are open all year round for members and families of WAGGGS and non-members, delivering programme and providing opportunities for global friendships. 

About the World Centre - Sangam:

Sangam, located in Pune, India is one of the World Centres of WAGGGS. It is an international gathering place for members and families, providing opportunities to meet, share experiences and learn together.  

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to support, promote and deliver strategic and operational management of Sangam World Centre in accordance with the mission, vision, values and business plans of WAGGGS. 

The primary purpose of this role is ensuring that the mission and vision of WAGGGS is delivered through programmes and activities undertaken at Sangam World Centre.

The role will be responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring & evaluation of a business plan, annual budget and day-to-day finances for the World Centre, ensuring that projects/programmes are achieved and within the budget. To achieve this management of a dynamic international team is required.

About You:

As a confident manager - you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the World Centre and the leadership of a team of international staff and volunteers.  

You will work to ensure the highest standards of customer service to all visitors and support constant improvements to service delivery.  

You will need to be an energetic team manager with residential, hotel, hostel, catering or conference sectors experience. You will have excellent communication skills and will enjoy taking on a varied, challenging role. 

The ideal candidate will have a great track record of building & maintaining relationships, developing cross-functional working relationships with the team and wider organisation.

Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, however Hindi and Marathi would be desirable.

Applications are encouraged from Indian residents and throughout the international community and assistance with relocation will be provided.  Work permit/visa restrictions may also apply. Residential lodging can be provided onsite. 

This is a permanent position. The flexibility to cover days, evenings and weekends is essential.
