The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is the umbrella body for the global Girl Guide and Girl Scout movement. With 146 member organisations that, between them, have 10 million girl members, WAGGGS sits at the centre of the world’s biggest voluntary movement dedicated to girls and young women.
This role will provide a professional design and production service across the organisation to support our fundraising, membership and programmes objectives. As part of the wider communication team, you will increase our global profile and influence, to ensure we are seen globally as a modern, impactful organisation advocating and delivering changes which benefit girls and young women through our Member Organisations.
You will take the lead in the design and production of our publications to ensure that our brand and strategic messages are supported by engaging and consistent designs. You will design a wide range of publications generating concepts, visuals and artwork to meet the purpose of the product and the target audience. This will largely be in consultation with appropriate members of staff and/or committees. You will share knowledge and best practice across the team and manage relationships with suppliers.
The successful applicant will be proficient in relevant design tools and software include Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign as well as a have a good understanding of digital marketing techniques. You will be highly creative in generating design concepts from scratch to the final product in both print and digital. You will have a strong eye for detail and a passion for design together with an interest in looking for innovative design solutions and new design tools in order to continually improve. You will be proficient in using an Apple Mac.
