About Pax Lodge
Pax Lodge is one of WAGGGS' four World Centres and is a place for members and families of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to meet. It offers accommodation, international volunteering programmes, employment opportunities and a wide range of activities.
About the Role:
Pax Lodge is looking for someone to assist the Deputy World Centre Manager with guest service duties, in order to establish and maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all guests and visitors.
The post holder will provide front-of-house duties in order to establish and maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all guests and visitors and to ensure the smooth running of Pax Lodge. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing our busy reception, shop facilities and events bookings, as well as managing our accommodation online booking system and completing regular financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, will enjoy working with others in an international team and will have experience in operational management. Experience of working in a front-of-house administration role in an accommodation or conference venue is desirable. You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of tourist industry standards and have the ability to work in high-pressure environment. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, knowledge of other languages are desirable but not essential.
This is a two-year, fixed-term contract position. The successful applicant will work on a rota basis with an hour break and one day per week on night call.
