Chief Executive

As Chief Executive, you will provide strategic leadership and vision, working closely with the World Board to implement WAGGGS’ strategy, diversify and grow income and reach, and support our vibrant Member Organisations. You will be responsible for leading a geographically dispersed team of staff and volunteers, overseeing resource allocation, and securing funding to ensure the sustainability and impact of the organisation.

Job Title: Chief Executive

Location: UK, Hybrid (2 days per week in London office)

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary Range: Circa £115,000 GBP per annum

About You:

We are looking for a visionary, inspiring, mission-driven individual who can lead the charity forward to maximise our impact to deliver on our Compass 2032 vision of an equal world where all girls can thrive. 

This role requires inspiring, authentic leadership and an impactful communicator with the confidence and credibility to elevate WAGGGS’ recognition on the national, regional, and global stages.

The successful candidate will be comfortable engaging with a wide range of people, including girls and young women, volunteers, leaders of our Members Organisations and external partners. They will understand and demonstrate the importance of collaboration and enjoy working in partnership with girls and young women, volunteers and staff at all levels to deliver on our strategic objectives. 

This profile must be complemented by strong business and financial acumen, an understanding of good governance, and a track record of strategic and operational leadership in an international context, with the ability to navigate successfully through a changing and complex environment. 

A passion for youth participation, gender equality, and advancing diversity and inclusion is key, along with the ability to work flexibly and to travel internationally, where required.
