Friday 2 December

The last full day

TV interview at COP17Friday was our last day as a full delegation at COP17, and it was full of exciting activities.

First, the gender working group’s policy statement was passed at the YUNGO spokescouncil meeting, so we can start presenting it to negotiators.

Edith and Beatrice woke up early to be filmed by a German TV station, who wanted to show a typical day at COP.

At lunch time, we taught our cha cha slide dance to a group of South African Girl Guides.

Delegates meeting COP17 President Maite Nkoana-Mashabane WAGGGS hosted a joint press conference with the World Organization of the Scouting Movement (WOSM), and Linnea and Thombi did a great job of speaking on behalf of WAGGGS.

We ended our day by attending an inspiring briefing by the president of COP17 President Maite Nkoana-Mashabane and took photos with her afterwards.

Edith cooked us all a lovely dinner of rice and chicken, and we had fun talking and dancing together.
