Delegates at COP 16-   Megan Van BuskirkMegan Van Buskirk is from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She is 23 years old and has been in Girl Guides since she was a Brownie! Megan has a B.Sc. in Physical Geography and is working towards a B.A. in Northern Studies from the University of Saskatchewan. She was also a WAGGGS delegate to the COP 16.

“It will be an amazing opportunity for us to voice the concerns of all Girl Guides, Girl Scouts, and women in our world. I also can't wait to meet everyone and all of the other youth delegates that will be there.”

Delegates at COP 16-   Browyn HughesBronwyn Hughes is 22 years old and from Thirroul, New South Wales, Australia. She has been a member of Girl Guides since she was 7 years old. Bronwyn is in her last semester of a Bachelor of International Studies (majoring in Development Studies). She was also a WAGGGS delegate to the COP 16!

Delegates at COP 16-   Fatima EspinosaFatima Espinosa is 21 years old and is from Durango, Mexico. She is studying in the University of Law and loves Guiding. She works on many environmental projects with the Guides of Mexico. She was also a WAGGGS Delegate to COP 16!

“I want to continue being part of this big and passionate movement of Youth involving in take actions to fight the climate change. I really like the experience that I got in COP16 and I´m really excited to see all the achievements and results that we will get in this COP17.”

Nicole Heppler is 20 years old. She is from Burgdorf, Switzerland. Nicole has been active in Scouting/Guiding for 12 years. She studies Business Administration (and Law) at the University of Berne.

“I am very excited to meet you all and to see how I can play my part in fighting climate change. I hope to be able to contribute something and not just talk.”

ElaineMurphyElaine Murphy is 24 years old and from Irvine, California in the United States. She has a degree in Journalism and now works for a travel magazine and environmental website. Elaine has been in Girl Scouts since she was 4 years old.

LeahParsonLeah Parsons is19 years old and is from Devon, UK. Guiding is a big part of Leah’s life, and she just spent 6 months volunteering at Our Chalet in Switzerland.

Linnea Wedelin is 20 years old and from Sweden. She has been a Scout for 10 years. She is currently studying Media and Communications, and hopes to get into Journalism next year!

“I love to meet Guides and Scout from all over the world and really want to see all of you. I am also super excited about showing others what Guides and Scouts can to for the environment! Since we are a big movement we can do a lot, but I don't think that many non-scouts are aware of that fact. I also hope to learn a lot of new things about Climate Change and what we can do for the environment.”

BeatriceOmweriBeatrice Nyambeki is 26 years. She is from Nairobi, Kenya. She has been in Guiding since High School and has a B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Science.

Fezile Nokuphila Ngcobo is 23 years old and from Pietermartzburg, South Africa.  She is a Community Development student and values Guiding.

TiffanyDickTiffany Dick is 19 years old and from Cape Town, South Africa. She is studying a B.A. in English (with a specialization in Creative Writing) through UNISA. She loves Guiding and attended the World Conference in 2008 in Johannesburg.

“I am very interested in the topic of Climate Change and the changing environment. I am looking forward to bringing the voice of young woman to the board and I am eager to learn any new ways about how I (and my community) can help out improve our planet. And of course I am excited to meet new sisters from all over the world!”

EdithChukwuEdith Uzoamaka Chukwu is 25 years old she is from Ebonyi, Nigeria. She studies Biochemistry at her State University and loves Guiding and volunteering.

“It's going to be a great opportunity and a turn-around in my life, my country and my guide company to the national level at our CEC meeting, about the needs and how to do a massive work on climate change and get fast result.”

AshleyGeddesAshley Geddes is 23 years old and is from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She has been in Guiding since she was a Brownie. She has even been to all four World Centres! Ashley has a degree in Geography from the University of Saskatchewan.

“I really want to learn more about this topic and what better place to do it than at the conference! I am also very excited to be there and be a part of the activism.”

KristinaMarkerKristina Marker is from Bagsværd, Denmark. She is 24 years old. Right now she is finishing up her Master’s in Environmental Science from the Technical University of Denmark. She has been in Scouts since she was 8 years old.

Mia Rix is from Aalborg, Denmark. She is a Master’s student in Environmental Geography and is doing an internship working with nature restoration. She loves Girl Scouts and has attended the World Scout Jamboree.

“Because, if we want to change the world, it is not enough to teach scouts and guides from all over the world about environmental issues, we also have to ensure that the politicians with power will listen to them. I hope that a strong WAGGGS delegation going to COP17 will help…”

 Irene Grace Namirembeis 22 years old and from Uganda. She is proud to be a Girl Guide and has a degree in Statistics.
