Stop the Violence in Madagascar 2012-13

Skotisma Zazavavy Eto Madagasikara with the support of the Swiss Union Soroptimists improved education and raised awareness of gender-based violence in Madagascar in 2012-13

In partnership with the Swiss Union Branch of Soroptimists, Skotisma Zazavavy Eto Madagasikara (Girl Scouts of Madagascar - SZM) began a project in 2012 with the aim of improving education and raising awareness of violence perpetrated against girls and women in Madagascar. 

The project goals 

  1. Education - Strengthen the educational component SZM's educational offering in line with Millenium Development Goal 2 and improve competencies and understand on the subject of violence against girls and young women. 
  2. Raise Awareness in the Community - Organize a national day of raising awareness and advocate against violence towards girls and women with SZM's partners, and hold a special event on World Thinking Day on the 22 February.
  3. Work closely with Soroptimists for the education of members and raise the awareness of both organizations and key movements for the education of girls and young women.
