Tomorrow (Wednesday 12th March), the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts will be hosting an official UN side event with the United Nations Millennium Campaign as part of the 58th UN Commission on the Status of Women. The event is called ‘The World We Want for Girls: from MDGs to Post 2015’ and will explore what building blocks are needed to achieve the perfect world for girls, and for everyone.

The event will run from 10:30am – 12pm New York time. This will be 2:30pm – 4pm UK time.WAGGGS delegates at CSW 58

Beatrice from Kenya will be speaking on the panel alongside Gerardo Porteny from Young Men 4 Gender Equality and Emmeline L Verzosa, the Executive Director of Philippines Commission on Women. Hannah from Sweden and Chamathya from Sri Lanka will be taking the audience through the WAGGGS key messages with support from Julia from the Working Group on Girls.

However… the WAGGGS delegates need your support to make the event as visible, exciting and successful as possible, as well as to continue its impact after the event has finished!
