Stop the violence: 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence Campaign
Traduction à suivre
25 Novembre 2013
Each year from 25 November to 10 December women’s organizations, advocates and activists join together for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence Campaign. This campaign links the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November with International Human Rights Day on 10 December. 16 Days is the perfect opportunity for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts everywhere to speak out to end violence through posts, tweets, pictures, videos, and more.
With the Stop the Violence: speak out for girls’ rights campaign, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts is creating a global community committed to ending violence against girls and young women. As experts in education, community action and advocacy, we aim to reach out to 30million people in over 100 countries to break the culture of silence on violence and take action to end it.
Building from a whisper to a shout we will stop violence against girls
We need Girl Guides and Girl Scouts across the Movement to help us reach out to their networks and to start the conversation on violence against girls. By using social media we can reach out to new audiences in diverse settings to tell them that violence against girls is wrong and must stop.
Join the conversation today and help stop violence against girls
In 2013 the focus for 16 days will be Bust the myths: 16 myths for 16 Days. Each day we will focus on a different harmful, myth about violence against girls on social media and aim to debunk it across our efforts. Support our actions by retweeting and sharing the messages off the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts social media accounts.
