WAGGGS at World Conference on Youth 2014

Young people from all around the world will come together and discuss priorities for youth in the Post-2015 agenda. This conference aims to bring together young women and young men from all over the world with a special focus on under-represented youth in the current agenda (the Millennium Development Goals) with a gender and regional balance. This years' World Conference on Youth is especially unique in the fact that it is the first time governments and young people will aim to negotiate a joint outcome document.
10 of the 350 international participants selected are Girl Guides or Girl Scouts so WAGGGS has brought them together to speak as one voice. A small number of the national participants are also members of Sri Lankan Girl Guides.
Find out more about our delegates, and read their blog about key issues at the conference. Keep following @WAGGGSDelegates on Twitter for live updates and an insight into the negotiations and roundtables.
WAGGGS priority areas are outlined in this 'all you need to know' document, and a flyer for our parallel event: 'The World We Want for Girls Beyond 2015' on the afternoon of Thursday 8th May can be found here.
