iLead is the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts first ever initiative to bring the 100 years of leadership experience taught in guiding and scouting online, free and open to all.

Using the GLOW platform (Global Learning Online for WAGGGS) iLead takes participants through the bascis of leadership skills such as communication in iCommunicate, up to more substaintial management problems and solutions in iManage.

Youth delegates at WoCo

While at the 35th World Conference in Hong Kong, many delegates got to see first hand the benefits of iLead. During the orientation, youth delegates were presented with iLead and shown how it could benefit their careers, not just in the movement but throughout life. There was a GLOW stand present at all times where delegates could come and try out iLead in between breaks, and the Olave Baden-Powell Society were priviledged to have an entire presentation on iLead presented to them.

iLead was also given a round table discussion group, where 30 participants came together, from 30 different member organizations, who gave some really valuable feedback and had some fantastic ideas on how to improve/update the course and how to promote it within the member organizations.

In addition, we previously held a competition where 5 participants of iLead were chosen to receive tablet computers - and the winners have been announced! They are:

Florelvi Mercado – Venezuela

Andrea Korpel – Canada

Wiem Jbeli – Tunisia

Victoria Zubelza  - Argentina

Afshan  Saleem – Pakistan

We hope that even more participants will sign up to iLead and not just enhance leadership skills but get to meet others from all around the world.

i-Lead update:

i-Communicate (our third module) is currently available and  covers a wide range of communication subjects to support effective communication in leadership.

i-Communicate will focus on the skills and approaches required to communicate with others and lead effectively.

In particular, you will look at presenting your ideas; making the most of meetings; negotiating and influencing; giving feedback; and considering communication within a globalized world.

i-Manage(Module 4 of the i-Lead course) is due out on September 15th. Here is a bit of info:

i-Manage is the fourth module of the i-Lead course and looks at many everyday management issues that face leaders in the modern world.

As you grow and develop as a leader, you find yourself facing many practical issues and situations. You will therefore need to make sure that you have the management skills required to deal with these.

In this module, you will find sessions about organizing yourself, resource planning and delegating, performance management, financial and risk management and decision-making.

Login in to iLead and sign up, or complete your modules!
