Over the last few days you’ve been sending in your messages of support for the Millennium Development Goals. Tomorrow we will be launching the results of your tweets and Facebook comments marking our MDG Rally Point to coincide with the UN Special Event on MDGs.
The end of 2013 is 100 weeks from the target date of the MDGs and although efforts have had many successes, unfortunately girls and young women have fallen behind. As a result, we have five WAGGGS delegates currently in New York at the UN General Assembly working hard to get girls and young women onto the agenda after 2015, once the MDGs have expired. Read their daily updates here!
We desperately need your help to ensure that a buzz is still being made about the MDGs!
We’ve created 100 actions for MDG Rally Point resource to give you some inspiration on how you can keep the momentum going. We need you to find the actions you think you can do and spread the word about how important the MDGs are. Why not share some of your ideas with others and combine your efforts?
WAGGGS has also developed a policy paper for the UN General Assembly on what needs to happen to ensure girls and young women become a focus post-2015. Read it and learn more about the World We Want for Girls post-2015.
We can’t let the MDGs disappear, we can’t let progress slow down and we can’t let girls and young women be missed from the Post-2015 Development Agenda!
Join us in our efforts to create a buzz about MDGs and show the delegates in New York that they have your support.
