The voices of 10 million girls and young women across the world will be represented by WAGGGS' Chief Executive Mary Mc Phail during the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) on
20 September 2011.
The three-day annual gathering brings together leading CEOs along with heads of foundations, major philanthropists, prominent members of the media and directors of the most effective non-governmental organizations.
It is the 2nd occasion the WAGGGS Chief Executive has attended the global network with long-standing partner The UPS Foundation as they contribute to the action areas of Global Health, Economic Empowerment, Energy, Climate Change and Education.
With the Stop the violence campaign being launched at the European Parliament this week, Mary’s attendance at the Clinton Global Initiative provides another platform and opportunity to speak out for the rights of girls and women and advocate new strategies in ending gender-based violence.
"Girls who reach their full potential and whose contributions are valued really are the most effective agents of change."
Mary Mc Phail, WAGGGS Chief Executive
