The Western Hemisphere Region, in partnership with the Caribbean Link of Guiding is thrilled to be hosting the first ever National Leadership Development Programme (NLDP) event from 5th  to 11th April 2014, in Barbados, under the theme Be more, Grow more: Strong Leaders for a Bright Future’;

The NLDP will focus on reviving the rich training culture throughout the Caribbean and strengthening national boards, by mobilizing young people as trainers and creating a pool of advisors for use throughout the Caribbean.

The overall goal of the workshop is to build a foundation for ongoing support of the development of national board leadership, in the areas of succession planning and enhancing the volunteer experience.

In May last year Barbados was amongst three countries from the English speaking Western Hemisphere Region, chosen to send two Trainers, Nadia Skeete and Jenifer King, to the WAGGGS NLDP training of Trainers in the United Kingdom. On their return the post task was to train their Training Teams and the Association in the new initiative. To-date, they have presented to members of the Caribbean Link and Barbados Executive, and as recent as February 15th, 2014, Nadia Skeete would have worked and presented to the Guiders in Barbados at a Guiders’ Meeting.

The Girl Guides Association of Barbados is proud to welcome our sisters from WAGGGS, Western Hemisphere and the Caribbean Link of Guiding to Barbados from April 5-11, 2014 at the Marian Retreat Centre, St. John for the much anticipated week of intense learning, sharing and developing.
