Advocacy survey for ‘Free Being Me’ – we need your views!

10 June 2014

At the World Conference, the Free Being Me team will be running a roundtable session to consult Member Organisations on advocacy activities they could do as part of the programme. As a precursor to these discussions, WAGGGS would like to invite women of all ages – with a particular focus on young women – to complete a short survey, which can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FBMadvocacy

The survey will explore how body confidence issues affect different people, who girls and young women are influenced by in their countries and communities and how WAGGGS should target those who hold the ‘body confidence’ power.

The survey has been translated and is available in French (https://fr.surveymonkey.com/s/sondageplaidoyer), Spanish (https://es.surveymonkey.com/s/encuestadepropugnacion) and Arabic (https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/1700538/Free-Being-Me). Please promote all versions so we can ensure the data we collect is representative of a wide range of views.

The information collected in this survey will inform the discussions that happen at World Conference and kick-start the research phase for the new advocacy elements of Free Being Me. We need to ensure we are tackling the real issues that affect girls and young women’s body confidence and target the right people at a national and global level, to bring about positive changes in girls and young women’s lives and a generation happier with the way they look.
