WAGGGS launches new Stop the Violence - speak out for girls' rights website!
25 November 2013
On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the kick off day for the 16 Days of Activism campaign, WAGGGS launches our brand new Stop the violence - speak out for girls' rights campaign website.
WAGGGS’ ‘Stop the Violence – Speak out for girls’ rights’ campaign aims to empower girls, young women, boys and young men to learn about girls’ rights and how to claim those rights.
Through an education programme, lobbying, research, training and events, the campaign will help stop this global human rights abuse that we have been silent on for too long.
On this website, you can add your voice in support of the campaign. We want to collect one million voices by 2020 to help us end violence against girls.
What are ‘voices’?
A voice can be a written message, document, photo, audio or video. It might be a case study, a project description, a photo of your Girl Guide or Girl Scout group or simply a message of support. WAGGGS will display your voices in the Share section of the website. In this section, you can browse other supporters’ contribution by theme or media type, and support and encourge their work.
You can also learn about the different forms of violence against girls – presented in an accessible way. You can learn about the Voices against Violence education programme, and keep up to date with all the latest Stop the Violence news andevents.
Make sure you spread the word about the campaign – we have plenty of resources to help you, from campaign stickers to social media tools.
