Kelburn Guides in Wellington, New Zealand celebrated Thinking Day with a special ceremony where we lit candles representing friendship and children (child mortality) with different candles representng: children of different nationalities, religious beliefs, disabilities, richer or poorer etc. And a special candle to represent themselves and their uniqueness. We then had a shared international feast!

Here in Whitehall and Montague in Michigan, United States, our Girl Scout Service Unit used to do things a little different. Last year we switched it up, concentrated on only the WAGGGS chosen countries and offered more fun activities for the girls. They earned the WAGGGS patch and the GSUSA patch. Tons of fun.

Now we're just waiting for the 2013 activity pack so we can start planning!

Ann Berasley - 22 October 2012 - 8.18PM (GMT)

When will the activity packet described in the newsletter be available?

Thanks for adding Pakistan & the other four countries. These areas of child mortality, mother's health & care need special attention.

Alli Coyle (Guide Leader, Scotland) - 4 September 2012 - 5.12PM (GMT)

I'm so happy to see that Malawi is one of the focus countries. I have lived in Blantyre, Malawi (8 months in total over the course of 2 years).

When I get back to Scotland (from Malawi) in a couple of weeks I'm going to get the girls thinking about fundraising for the Thinking Day Fund!
