New Global Girls Fund video

You can now watch the new Global Girls Fund video! As part of its Centenary celebrations, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts has launched the Global Girls Fund dedicated to empowering all girls and young women to reach their full potential and take action to change the world for the better.
The video features young women – from the UK, Sweden, Ecuador and the Philippines – speaking about the difference Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting has made to their lives. They draw on the different opportunities that they participated in, such as the Juliette Low Seminar or the Commission on the Status of Women.
More about the Global Girls Fund
The Global Girls Fund was launched in 2009 to mark 100 year of International Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting. The Fund provides the ideal opportunity for us to look forward to the next 100 years, ensuring our continued ability to better impact the lives of girls and young women.
The challenge for girls and young women to be heard and to affect change in their communities is a significant one. Even in the 21st century, gender inequality remains. We believe that this is unacceptable, and must not be allowed to continue.
Our experience has shown us that the solution lies in equipping and empowering girls and young women to become agents of change themselves - impacting their homes, their communities, their countries and their world.
The Global Girls Fund will work towards achieving this through projects and programs that fall under three key focuses:
- Increasing girls’ sense of self by offering peer support and a place to belong
- Increasing girls’ sense of confidence by helping them to develop as a leaders
- Increasing girls’ sense of impact by teaching them about effective advocacy: educating them on core issues, giving them a platform on which to speak out and encouraging them to take action on issues that affect them and those around them.
With your help we aim to raise £10million by June 2014 in order to facilitate these programmes.

Well done sisters ! this is great to see that we are already prepared for the a change like we are always. Best way is to change some of our beliefs first of all and to BE the change we wish to see in this world. It starts from us WAGGGS the rest will follow. Keep going i believe the changes are coming.
